Why
Should You Join Alberta Council on Aging?
Currently
over 13% of the Canadian population is over
the age of 65, and it is estimated that in
the newt 25 years that number will be as
high as 27.4%. Now is the time to
start thinking about how the aging
population should influence the design of
our world around us.
All Seniors
and those over the age of 50 should belong
to the Alberta Council on Aging (ACA).
The sheer numbers of Seniors will create a
powerful force in the private sector as well
as is in public policy. As he
baby-boomer generation matures, Seniors will
have strong representation in our society
both as consumers as well as strong
advocates for aging parents. ACA
will represent the concerns and opinions of
Seniors throughout the province through
meetings, research and surveys that will
support the work of our Committees.
ACA will work
with the Directors and members to develop
programs and services that will assist both
Seniors and Senior serving organizations.
ACA will educate Seniors of the services and
programs that are available to assist them
in addition to educating the public on the
needs of the Seniors of Alberta.
