Resources Related to Continuing Care

Alberta’s continuing care system provides health, personal care and accommodation services.:

 

Respite Care

Alberta Health Services offers this program which gives caregivers a short period of rest and relief from their responsibilities. The individual or client may remain in their home or may be temporarily admitted to a respite bed in a Continuing Care facility that has this accommodation. The length of stay may be up to six weeks per year with consideration for extenuating circumstances. The respite bed may be booked through the Manager of the Continuing Care Unit.
